Communication, Press and Media

Background: Department is an electronic music festival with over 6,000 visitors annually. The festival is designed based on Zero Waste and is 100% vegan. The Department wanted to invest in a communication plan with a clear message about the environment and grow the number of visitors to the festival.

Objective: Create material that highlights the festival's environmental work, prove that it is possible to run a successful festival with a minimal climate footprint, package the concept for future partners.

Creative solution: Four colorful films with interviews, infographics, press photos, press releases, as well as targeted campaigns with an environmental focus.

With a focused communication plan, it has been shown that it is possible to run
a successful festival with a minimal climate footprint. In 2022, Department was awarded as innovator of the year and was awarded the Live Apan for their sustainability work, as well as being the only Swedish festival to become members of the European initiative The Green Deal Circular Festival (GDCF)
